Community Engagement Officer, Charity c£29k + benefits Hybrid / London A fantastic opportunity for either an experienced Community Engagement Fundraiser or a Customer Service Professional looking to transition to the Charity Sector, to take on this important role within this fabulous and well supported charity to further their work in the Greater London and environs community. This position will work alongside an experienced Community Engagement Manager and Fundraising Director to steward and develop community giving, support and key fundraising activity. The successful candidate will be developing and nurturing relationships to grow the community giving / fundraising pipeline, ensuring that supporters are engaged with and support the charity’s ongoing work. This is an exciting role for someone to manage, grow and develop opportunities with existing and established, as well as with new supporters and impact on the charity’s ambitious development strategy for growth! Day-to-day responsibilities will include day-to-day engagement with a large portfolio of community groups. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, and will be able to provide high levels of stewardship to a variety of audiences, in order to raise the vital funds needed to run our services and to increase the charity’s visibility in the community. You will play a key role in develop existing fundraising products and launching new third party fundraising initiatives. You will be able to creatively engage our local community to get involved in our high-value campaigns and events; including our annual matched-funding campaign. As is usual with such roles you will spend a good deal of time out in the community and there will be the need to work outside of regular office hours including evenings and weekends when necessary. You will hold a full driver’s license and be committed to travelling across the charity’s catchment area to meet supporters. Time of in lieu will be given for any change in hours worked. You will be a dedicated, organised and reliable individual with a ‘can do’ attitude and a real determination to succeed. You will have a solutions-focused outlook and have the ability to listen and read people in a variety of situations, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. You will be an exceptional, eloquent communicator; a natural relationship builder with the ability to prioritise your time and workload effectively to meet tight deadlines. Experience of managing a portfolio of community groups or experience within a customer service role is desirable, as well as using a CRM database system. The role is offered as a hybrid remote working / office-based, with a firm policy of 3 days / week in their offices in North London when you are not out and about in community engagement activities. A salary c£28,000 up to just under c£30,000 + a great benefits package (may be some flexibility for highly experienced candidates).
