SEN Teacher


Progressive is an Alternative Provision based in Coventry. We support students with special educational and social, emotional, health and wellbeing need across Primary, Secondary and Post-16 age groups. We cover a wide catchment across Coventry City and Warwickshire County Council. Are you a teacher passionate about SEN? Are you confident teaching KS3,KS4 in Maths, and English? Do you have any experience in delivering vocational and personal development courses? Teacher looking for a new position in September? Are you confident and keen to pursue a career within SEN? Would you be willing to assist students who require one to one support and emotional support in the classroom? Would you like to join an Alternative Provision with an aim to being high quality, high achieving local provision? You will be required to provide support on a one-to-one basis or leading on a task for up to eight students. A full school day - 8:30am to 4:00pm (35 hours per week/40 weeks per year) Be confident and driven to work within our learning centre, providing support both in and out of classroom for students with special educational needs with a range of academic abilities and life skills. We aim to support and engage young people who struggle to maintain attendance and learning in a school environment. We deliver short term, personalised learning programmes, as well as core education and post-16 opportunities. A combination of classroom learning at our centre, direct home tutoring, online learning, and outreach/community learning for pupils from ages 5 -21. At PCT, our Teachers are supported by our Head and Deputy teachers, as well as our consulting SENCo and therapeutic team. Minimum requirements: • QTS or QTLS Qualifications • Have proven teaching and learning experience. • Have up to date safeguarding and child protection qualifications/knowledge and experience. The ideal candidate will: • Have the energy, passion, and drive to create exciting and engaging lessons for our pupils. • Possess good mentoring and behaviour management skills. • Have initiative, vision, excellent planning, and organisational skills. • Ideally have experience and a passion for working with students with SEN/SEMH in a 1-1 or small group setting About the role: • Assisting in educational and social development of students. • Working with children with SEN and/or children who have struggled in a school environment. • Deliver 1:1 or small group lessons in our learning centre or non-school settings. • Supporting children with learning and education based on their individual needs. • Mentoring junior staff.
