Senior Quantity Surveyor (NEC-Civils)


Senior Quantity Surveyor - Civils Proline have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Civils NEC Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a vibrant consultancy on a permanent basis- working on a large value long-term contracts in the Kent and Southeast London areas. My Client is an established, professional consultancy, who due to a full order book are seeking to expand their workforce within their Civils division. They are based in Kent, and the successful candidate will be required to spend 1 day per week in their office. The time split each week will be dictated by the Client/project the candidate is working on, but will be typically: * 2 days on site * 1 days working from home * 2 days in the Maidstone office Responsibilities * Evaluate costs and advise on alternative proposals * Provide advice on contract arrangements and conditions under which building will be constructed * Advise architects and engineers on the cost implications of different construction methods, alternative choices of materials, and size and quality of the project to ensure that each element is reconciled with the cost plan allowance and the overall project remains within budget * Prepare tendering documents including Bills of Quantities * Manage the costs of projects during the construction stage and negotiate final accounts * Follow Practice procedures concerning quality assurance Requirements * Have strong communication (both written and verbal) skills and an interpersonal style that enables you to flourish in a direct client facing role * Be able to chair meetings and have the leadership skills needed to lead a project team, which may sometimes include managing conflict and resolving complex issues * Have exceptional planning and organisation skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple demands * Be able to work independently, make sensible judgements and decisions, and take responsibility for doing whatever it takes to get the job done. * NEC3/4 contract knowledge * You must be eligible for security clearance * MRICS is desirable In order to be considered for this role, applicants MUST have the right to work in the UK.
