SEN Teaching Assistant


PCT is an Alternative Provision based in Coventry. We support students with special educational and social, emotional, health and wellbeing need across Primary, Secondary and Post-16 age groups. We cover a wide catchment across Coventry City and Warwickshire County Council. Are you a teaching assistant passionate about SEN? Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a new position in September? Are you confident and keen to pursue a career within SEN? Would you be willing to assist students who require one to one support and emotional support in the classroom? Would you like to join an Alternative Provision with an aim to being high quality, high achieving local provision? You will be required to provide support on a one-to-one basis or leading on a task for up to four students. Teaching Assistant- Child related experience and qualification preferred, with a minimum of English and Maths at GCSE level. A full school day - 8:30am to 4:00pm (35 hours per week/40 weeks per year) Be confident and driven to work within our learning centre, providing support both in and out of classroom for students with special educational needs with a range of academic abilities and life skills. About the role: As a Teaching Assistant you will work with a range of children, and work to achieve positive learning outcomes for all our students, regardless of the challenges they face. The role involves: * Assisting in educational and social development of students. * Assisting teacher in creating lesson plans. * Working with children with SEN and/or children who have struggled in a mainstream school environment/large class size. * Deliver 1:1 lesson's that are produced in conjunction with our Teachers, Head Teacher and consulting therapeutic team. * Working 1:1 with children within the learning centre and non-school settings. * Supporting children with learning and education based on their individual needs. * Making a positive impact to children's lives!
