Senior Residency Support Worker £25200 salary Permanent 37.5 hours a week 25 days hol plus 8 bank holiday days Leeds branch (#LEEJP) Are you experienced in supporting vulnerable adults? Adults who have fled domestic violence, modern slavery and human trafficking. Brook Street Social Care are recruiting Senior Support Workers on behalf of their client based in Huddersfield to join their new service. Job Summary The role will include assisting clients with gaining access to benefit entitlements, health care provision, move on accommodation, educational services and any other identified areas of need or personal goals for the client. Ultimately the support you will provide the residents will lead them to successfully integrate into the community. In addition you will supported and encouraged and have monthly client clinics. Requirements You will need to be able to work independently in an office and community setting. You will be exposed to highly sensitive and confidential information, which has the potential to be distressing and traumatic for both self and other members of staff. You will therefore require the ability to be reflective regarding practice and to engage in relevant team meetings, and where appropriate access support and supervision from senior members of staff in order to look after their own well-being. Education Good verbal and written command of the English language GCSE's A* to C in Maths and English or equivalent Knowledge &Experience Ability to plan and prioritise own workload Demonstrate an awareness of safe practice when lone working Experience of: * working with vulnerable and / or complex need client groups * partnership / multi-agency working * working autonomously * prioritising own workload * working with confidential information. Understanding of difficulties experienced by: * asylum, refugees and migrants * individuals fleeing domestic abuse * victims of modern slavery and human trafficking * individuals fleeing forced marriage or honour-based violence * unaccompanied asylum seekers leaving the care service Substantial experience of risk/needs assessment and Support Planning Substantial knowledge & understanding of: * the criminal justice system, immigration law, safeguarding adults and children and the legal responsibilities linked to these * national and local policies surrounding modern slavery, the asylum process and issues in relation to migrants, refugees and asylum seekers. * a trauma informed approach. Substantial experience of working with: * individuals with challenging behaviours, addiction or mental health problems * individuals who have established health inequalities * in a multi-agency and multi-disciplinary environment. Substantial experience of: * collaboration and partnership working with statutory and Non-Government Organisations. * social care or other health/education professional training or relevant experience. * supported and generic housing provision Substantial knowledge of the CMS database and the NRM process and contract.
