Experienced Maths Teacher needed for a SEND School in Nuneaton Do you have a passion working with young people aged 7 – 17? A SEND School in Nuneaton is looking for a dedicated Maths Teacher to join their team full-time, starting ASAP on an ongoing basis. This calm and therapeutic SEND School is in Nuneaton and caters for students aged 7-17, with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and related social emotional mental health needs. They pride themselves in creating a welcoming, motivating, and nurturing atmosphere where every pupil is encouraged and inspired to achieve their potential and develop a love of learning. The school works to instil a ‘can do’ attitude by encouraging others to share knowledge skills and expertise. They teach their children to grow as individuals and to analyse, reflect and evaluate and welcome difference and diversity. You will be responsible for teaching a class of children with additional needs including challenging behaviour, meaning that you must be able to adjust your teaching methods and the existing curriculum to meet the needs of each individual child specifically children with autism spectrum disorder. It is important that you help and inspire the children to help them reach their true academic potential! Planning is also involved in this role. The preferred candidate will have: * Experience in working with special needs (ASC, MLD, SEMH) * Minimum 6 months’ experience working with children and young people * QTS is essential (does not have to be in Maths but experience teaching Maths is essential also). * Excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum * Experience of using communication aids such as British Sign Language, Makaton or PECS is advantageous but not essential. * Enhanced DBS registered or willing to acquire a new certificate. * Can effectively manage behaviour using positive behaviour strategies. * Will be kind, caring and patient when dealing with children who require specialist support.
