Who are we?
S??nas is a provider of support services for children and young persons with intellectual disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder and acquired brain injury. We are a growing and dynamic service that is focused on developing the strengths of the people we support and the team that provides that support. We currently provide alternative respite service for children and young people from age 4-17 years.
Our newly established multi-disciplinary team will provide services and supports to children 4-17 years old and young persons with complex needs, intellectual disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder and acquired brain injury.

Overview of the post:
The Speech and Language Therapist will work as a member of the S??nas multi-disciplinary team providing services to children from 4-17 years their family members, carers and staff members.
The Speech and Language Therapist will report to the Director Of Community Services
The Speech and Language Therapist will be responsible for conducting Assessment of need (AON) where required, along with providing a quality and needs based service including assessment diagnostics, intervention, programme planning, monitoring and ongoing service delivery to children with complex needs.
Professional clinical supervision will be provided.
The ability to work in a self directed manner and manage own caseload is a key component of the role.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to develop their skills and be a positive influence on shaping and enhancing S??nas services.
Contract type: Full time Permanent 40 hours per week. However candidates interested in Part Time or reduced hours contract will be considered.
Location: Option of Service locations in Balbriggan, Finglas and Wicklow
Essential Criteria :
Hold a qualification in Speech and Language Therapy recognised by the Speech and Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
Practitioners must maintain annual CORU registration.
Must be eligible to work in republic of Ireland
Post-graduate experience working with children and young persons with complex needs, intellectual disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder and acquired brain injury
Full clean driving licence, use of a car and willingness to travel
Ability to work in a self directed manner, prioritising workload
Effective communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
Effective planning, organisational and time management skills
Commitment to continuous professional development
UpToDate knowledge of relevant developments, changes and best practice within the field of Intellectual Disabilities
Experience of inter-disciplinary team working.
Desirable Criteria :
Evidence of participation in continuous professional development
Experience working with children or young people with complex communication needs
Experience of working with children and young adults presenting with dysphagia and Feeding, Eating, Drinking and Swallowing difficulties(FEDS)
UpToDate knowledge of health services and trends nationally and internationally
Membership of IASLT , Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists.
