General Anaesthetic Services Ltd Service Technician Role General Anaesthetic Services specialises in the service, test and repair of anaesthetic vaporizers and associated equipment. Our customers are NHS and private hospitals throughout the UK and also UK based veterinary practices. We operate a Quality Management System that conforms to ISO 13485 and we have an excellent reputation in all areas of the medical equipment industry. We now have an opportunity for a Service Technician to join our experienced and dedicated team. This is a permanent position based in our facility in Keighley, West Yorkshire. Working closely with our customer services team, you will service and test a range of anaesthetic equipment to industry standards, for which full training will be given. You will be expected to work closely with our Production Manager in learning all aspects of the role, this will cover: • Vaporizer servicing & maintenance • Fault finding & repair • Working with the Quality & Admin Teams when required • Learning to service & repair Veterinary Anaesthesia equipment This position will involves working in hospital operating theatres and in veterinary practices and you will be expected to work away from home with overnight stays when required. Job Role: * Provide technical support as part of the service team to assist customers and help minimise downtime. * Work closely with the customer and site personnel to build relationships and maintain good communication. * Plan for and maintain tools, equipment and supplies required to complete the necessary maintenance / tasks. * Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities (e.g. on-site repair / servicing). * Assist in documentation and reports such as service reports, method statements and quoting. * Build-up good in-depth knowledge of different vaporizer aspects to ensure confidence when diagnosing, repairing and testing. * Work closely with Quality Management to ensure conformance with the ISO 13485 accreditation Job Requirements: * Ability to demonstrate technical experience in using own initiative to identify mechanical faults and carry out repairs. * Understanding of engineering drawings (Mechanical) not essential but beneficial * Strong interest in medical equipment technology as well as mechanical ability. * Interpersonal skills to work effectively as part of a team, with site personnel and customers, and promote excellent customer relationship at all times. * Demonstrate good PC skills across the Microsoft Office suite of products and general knowledge of, and comply with, the Health and Safety at Work Act and other legislation. Previous experience in a technical, engineering or maintenance of medical equipment role would be an advantage. Please contact us for salary information. - Permanent position, there will be a probationary period of three months within which the notice period for both you and General Anaesthetic Services is one week. After the successful completion of your probationary period, the notice period will be one month. - Due to the nature of this post, you will be required to work flexibly and may be required to work additional hours as are reasonably necessary to perform your duties and meet the needs of our customers. Applicant must be happy to work away when required and a clean driver’s licence is essential. - In addition to your salary, you will be entitled to overtime when necessary at 1.5 x your hourly rate and use of a company vehicle. You will have 23 days paid holiday per year plus bank holidays & your birthday. GAS also operates a holiday reward programme linked to years of service. Expenses are also payable when you are required to stay over on site. Bonuses may be payable and are dependent on company performance
