Technical Assurance Engineer


Job Title: Technical Assurance Engineer Location: Farnborough Salary: up to £63,000 per year Sector: Data Centres The Technical Assurance engineer will also work closely with the Head of Technical Facilities, the regional Technical Facilities team and the in-house Command Centre team, ensuring efficient and effective procedures are deployed to meet the business needs. The Technical Assurance engineer will also be responsible for maintaining a comprehensive the TFM team's Simplerisk register and supporting operational risk register for their region, driving mitigation and/or resolution to minimize the risk of operational incident. They shall also work alongside Sales, CDEs, Client Services, Technical Operations, Build and Design with responsibilities covering customer requirements, operating standards and technical competencies. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative, but not exclusive, of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE The candidate is already likely to be operating at a Senior or Intermediate Engineer level within an engineering or property environment and will have a clear understanding of facilities and engineering services policies, procures and standards. The candidate will also be able to demonstrate experience in leading teams in the correct adoption of said policies, procedures and standards, demonstrating practical experience in supporting successfully implementation and validation, specific to Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental practices associated with Facilities Management. CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES A member of the IMechE or IET or similar and a Chartered Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering) desired but not essential. The candidate shall also have a suitable qualification in Safety Management such has IOSH Managing Safely COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to work with and communicate effectively within a strong management matrix incorporating senior management, operations, sales and finance. Ability and experience in preparing, reviewing and authorising, progress and technical investigation reports. Willingness to make effective presentations and respond to questions from groups of peers, managers and clients. Requires a high level of commitment to customer service whether co-workers or clients. LEGAL KNOWLEDGE Requires knowledge of local laws, regulations, codes of conduct and supporting guidelines pertaining to Technical Facilities and Property Management. FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE Requires the ability to contribute to the development, review and analysis of aligned budgets and estimates on service strategy, service design and service operations. COMMERCIAL AWARENESS Requires the ability to administer and manage commercial contracts. REASONING ABILITY Ability to analyse and solve problems, involving several options, with limited information. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form and to work independently. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills. OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES Excellent management skills, the ability to manage, internally and externally, multiple individuals, service teams and vendors seamlessly to meet Ark's project objectives. Excellent understanding of advanced electrical, mechanical, security/monitoring, and fire detection/suppression systems as well as standard practices in the design and construction industry. * Ability to work well under pressure with a proactive approach to unusual occurrences. * Must have successful management track record demonstrating excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and openness to new ideas and procedures
