Accounts assistant

Ref 10951 Accounts assistant 20 hour per week – over 5 days ideally (the offices are open from 8.30am – 4.30pm) would consider 4 days for the right person £14.50 per hour 32 days holiday including bank holidays Our client based in Blidworth, Nottinghamshire is looking for a part-time accounts assistant due to retirement after 23 years of service, this a stand alone finance role reporting to the Managing Director of small and profitability company. Due to the location own transport is required or must live within a 5 miles radius of Blidworth. Duties * Sales invoice generation, receipts and invoice postings, also factoring invoices when required, maintain accounts receivables ledgers, including chasing unpaid debts. * Supplier invoices and payments postings to accounts payable ledger, agreeing balances to supplier statements and ensuring payments are made to the trading terms. * Bank reconciliations – posting of payments & receipts to general ledgers, reconciling control accounts to bank statements * Filing of all documents, whether digitally or paper in an easily accessible manner * Manage petty cash and reconcile weekly * Processing weekly payroll * Posting of payroll journals and reconciling all control accounts * Accounts to trial balance and preparation of monthly management accounts * Conducting any other tasks related to finance and production * Operation sage line 50 The Person * Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, suppliers etc * Maintain customer and supplier databases * Handle phone calls, emails and other correspondence with professionalism and courtesy * Responsible for accounts to trial balance * Sage experience would be helpful however training can be given to the right candidate This vacancy is being advertised by Freshstart Recruitment who are acting as an Employment Agency.
