Senior Quantity Surveyor


A leading Scottish Civil Engineering Main Contractor are actively seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor for a permanent position in Central Scotland. This role can be based across the Central belt as there are sites in the East and West of the country. Projects vary from heavy earthworks, windfarms, substations, structures and more. This is an ideal role if you enjoy being based on site and enjoy a fast-paced Commercial environment. Our client: * A thriving, family-led business that has completed civil engineering projects across the length and breadth of the UK; * With a responsible sustainability strategy, they invest significant time and effort to ensure safe working environments with minimal environmental impact; * Civil engineering is the core business, but have capabilities in property development, plant hire and energy; * Due to on-going and future pending contracts, this is an excellent opportunity to work with one of the Scotland's largest contractors and get exposure to interesting and prestigious projects. What you’ll be doing: * The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for preparing tender and contract documents, including performing risk, value management and cost control; * You will perform cost analysis, seek funding options and prepare and approve final accounts for submission; * Working on civil engineering and various infrastructure projects, you will also be responsible for managing costs from inception to completion to minimise cost and maximising value for money. * You will be based by and largely on site, implementing a hands on approach to Quantity Surveying; * You will be expected to run your own projects with the assistance of a team of AQS and QS's. What you’ll need to be successful: * The ideal candidate will be degree-qualified, with at least an HNC in Quantity Surveying; * Experience with a Main Contractor, although any civil engineering background will be considered; * At least 6+ years’ post-graduate experience in Quantity Surveying; * Confident and comfortable working on multiple projects and sites.
