Mechanical Design Engineer - (Experienced)

A successful family run business offering warning lighting and equipment, suppling everything from lightbars and sirens, to lighting masts and bespoke mast solutions. Job Summary At least 4 years experience in Engineering Design !! NO RECENT GRADUATES EXCEPTED - 3-4 years minimum Experience needed in the UK. Design new products, improve existing products and assist 3D production. To support the Engineering Manager and Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with various tasks. To provide product-related technical support both internally and externally. looking for a dynamic individual, with a minimum of 4 years’ experience of working within an Engineering/design environment.  You will be involved in all aspects of the design process, joining a multi-disciplinary team to innovate new and improve existing products for specialist vehicles for the global market.  LOCATION – Coventry Skills and Experience Required: Successful candidates will have / be expecting a minimum of a grade 5 or above in English, Math’s and either a Science or Technology based Apprenticeship time served or equivalent – in manufacturing / engineering / design environment. Full driving Minimum 4 years’ experience of working within an engineering/design environment. Experience of working within a technical and manufacturing environment. Experience of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other 2D/3D drawing Good level of computer-based IT skills including use of MS Office, Outlook, Excel etc and the willingness to learn new systems and processes as Knowledge/exposure to AutoCAD and SolidWorks or other design packages and able to use one Ability to work within a team and liaise with other teams and individuals when Excellent oral and written communication, and numeracy Able to read drawings and use measuring Pro-active and able to work without close Must be able to commute to Barnacle Desirable: Experience of using BC21 Used handheld scanners Used 3D printers knowledge in ISO 9001 Quality System/Lean Mythologies Up to date Knowledge of of all relevant product and design regulations  including EMC, CE The Salary - £30,000 - £31,000 depending on experience. 33 Days Holiday Office based – 40 hrs per week.
