Project Manager


We are currently working with a leading Transport Fuel Supplier who are represented across the UK. As part of a multi-billion pound organisation; this is a great opportunity for an experienced Engineering driven Project Manager to join their business. The ideal candidate will have experience in the Oil & Gas Sector or any highly regulated sector such as the Energy sector, Chemicals or even Waste Management. You will be responsible for leading & delivering projects within a highly regulated environment, ensuring the adherence to industry standards and government regulations. The role will require UK travel and will require the management of capital expenditure (Capex) projects with a budget of up to £10 million +. The scope of projects will include anything from new builds, decommissioning sites, rebuilds & refurbishments of the depot network for the business.  You will be overseeing in excess of 100 sites across the UK.  Role: Engineering Project Manager Salary: up to £65,000 per annum + car allowance + bonus + benefits Location: Central England (West Midlands or Northwest)  The Responsibilities for the Engineering Project Manager: Lead and manage complex engineering projects within the Oil & Gas Sector, from conception to commissioning, ensuring on-time delivery and within allocated resources. Develop project plans, including detailed schedules, budgets, and resource allocation. Annual CAPEX spend £10m + Oversee and manage the execution of projects, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, requirements, and standards. Coordinate activities with internal stakeholders, subcontractors, and third-party entities, fostering effective collaboration to achieve project objectives. Take ownership of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance, implementing and managing Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) processes. Manage and control project costs, continuously monitoring budgets, and implementing corrective measures as required. Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, ensuring their expectations are met or exceeded throughout the project lifecycle. Utilise effective communication and leadership skills to manage project teams, motivating team members to achieve project milestones. Adhere to the principles of Construction Design and Management (CDM) to ensure the safe execution of construction projects. Requirements for the Engineering Project Manager: Hold a relevant engineering qualification and project management expertise Experience of using project management models such as Prince2 etc and software such as Microsoft project required. Significant project management experience with ability to manage numerous projects involving stakeholder engagement, budget control, customer outcomes and specified deliverables Experience of managing engineering projects within the transport fuel / Oil distribution/ EV or other high hazard sector Experience of multi project delivery within a high-risk profile organisation would be beneficial Experience of HSE management systems and permit to work processes and contractor management Knowledge and experience of working with CDM 2015 beneficial This is a great opportunity for a strong Engineering Project Manager with good technical background and a strong commercial acumen to thrive within a multi national business and being involved in major projects for the upcoming years.
