Estimator – Social Housing Salary – Up to £75,000 (Depending on Experience) plus discretionary bonus Location: Essex About the Company: My client is well established property services business who specialise in building services, mechanical, electrical and renewable energy. About the Role: My client is currently looking for an experienced Estimator to join the Bid team. The services will cover, but are not limited to, local authority and housing association planned, repair and maintenance long term contracts and frameworks for workstreams across Electrical and their associated services including renewables, mechanical and their associated services including building refurbishment, reactive, fabric first works and all other Net Zero Carbon works. * Preparation and submission of the commercial element of tenders using, for example, various schedules of rates that are utilised by the public sector or more traditional pricing methods. * Track tender opportunities and ensure the right technical and commercial offer is brought together into a winning proposal within often tight deadlines in conjunction with Group Bid Manager, completion of tender documentation. * Preparation of budgets, cost plans, analytical cost estimates, including preliminaries, bills of quantities and value engineering options. * Ensure competitive bids, including risk and value management during the tender period and visit site to identify site-specific risks. * Appraisal of tender documents and preparation of material and sub-contract enquiries, including selection of prospective sub-contractors. Adjudication and comparison of sub-contractor quotations. * Attending strategy/opportunity meetings with relevant stakeholders (internal & external). * Initiate technical queries and ensure design is sufficiently developed to ensure accurate costings. * Preparation of Contractors’ Proposals with Business Development and Design Teams. * Develop and maintain strong relationships with all Stakeholders: Customers, Consultants, Supply Chain and Colleagues. Candidate Requirements: * Contracts knowledge including traditional, partnering and local authority * Strong knowledge of NHF and NSR schedule of Rates * Significant experience in Social Housing * Must be able to demonstrate job loyalty About the Benefits and Reward: * Basic salary of up to £75,000 (depending on experience) * Discretionary Bonus * Share scheme * Wellbeing checks * Paid expenses between offices
