Technical Manager

We are continuing to expand our South Coast region and we are seeking an ambitious Technical Manager. This is based in our fabulous office in Calmore with it's own in house gym, great transport links and a drive through Starbucks next door for your caffeine hit.

About the role

Reporting to the Technical Director, the successful Technical Manager will be joining our technical team and will be coordinating the team and external design consultants to ensure technical and design matters are delivered within the programme and within budget

What you will do

• Work collaboratively with the Technical and associated departmental Directors in the management of the region; help with setting budgets, minimising risks, maximising opportunities, achieving the regions targets; and seeking to positively influence the progression and growth of the region.
• Provide practical and cost-effective technical service to the region reinforcing the guidance and support of the technical team who manage site evaluation, architectural and engineering design, and the investigations of any technical problems encountered and help/support the Technical Team in providing economical and viable solutions. This will involve liaison with, appointment of and co-ordination of external professionals.
• Motivate, mentor, coach and support the junior members of the Technical team.
• Manage all existing projects and support the team to obtain new land acquisitions
• Ensure briefs and scopes for design consultants are appropriate, prior to the appointment
• Provide technical support to the commercial team during procurement.
• Ensure that all design / technical issues are dealt with within the development programme
• Support the project team with various technical matters including Building Control, utilities, bonds, NHBC and building regulations compliance
• Oversee due diligence technical assessment for land bids including optimising consented schemes.

What you will have

Essential

• Previous experience working as either a Technical Manager or Senior Technical Co-ordinator.
• Possess a strong knowledge base ideally from a technical design background of either architectural or civil engineering (preferably both).
• Knowledge of the housebuilding industry gained preferably with a high-volume house builder.
• Educated to HNC/HND level in a construction related qualification.
