Main Duties:

Serve as a role model for Early Years practices, adhering to and implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidelines consistently.

Understand and contribute to the room development plan, aligning with Ofsted requirements.

Act as a keyperson, fostering partnerships with parents/carers, catering to individual child needs through observation, planning, and evaluation of development activities.

Assist the Room Leader in embedding nursery initiatives, taking on responsibilities for specific projects or initiatives as required.

Address parent queries professionally, seeking assistance when necessary, and maintaining regular communication.

Uphold best practices in safeguarding, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.

Maintain standards outlined in room audits through daily practice.

Uphold equality principles and legislative requirements when interacting with team members.

Support the induction of new staff members into the room, ensuring smooth integration and understanding of protocols.

Take responsibility for maintaining consistency in care among staff covering shifts.

Assist the Nursery Management Team in maintaining appropriate staff-child ratios.

Health and Safety:

Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.

Proactively identify and manage risks within the nursery, promoting safe working practices.

Marketing:

Support in achieving occupancy targets through participation in company events and marketing initiatives.

Assist in social media and other marketing activities as required.

Contribute positively to show rounds for prospective parents, presenting the nursery in a favourable light.

Building/Utilities Maintenance:

Take care of nursery equipment and furniture, reporting issues promptly.

Ensure adequate supplies are available as needed.

Essential skills:

  • Full and relevant Early Years qualification.
  • Thorough understanding and practical application of the EYFS.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted inspection framework.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of equal opportunities legislation.
  • Safeguarding training.
  • Paediatric first aid certification.
  • Satisfactory DBS check.

Desirable:

Previous experience in a similar role.
