Industrial Electrician (Multiskilled)


Position Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the maintenance team of a medium sized industrial plant specialising in pyrometallurgy. The role is based in the site's large, well-equipped workshop and its primary duties comprise a mix of mechanical and electrical maintenance and installation work. Candidates will have the opportunity to work alongside a multi-skilled and highly experienced team, maintaining a unique industrial facility as part of a global mining and refining operation. The work of the Industrial Electrician is crucial to support the reliable operation of this unique facility, with no two days being the same. Training in fabrication and general welding will be provided.


Duties Overview:
1. Safe completion of routine and non-routine repairs, installations and removals of primarily electrical equipment, but also of mechanical equipment as required.
2. Use of fixed and mobile power tools, including but not limited to drills, saws and impact drivers. Use of vehicles including counterbalance forklift trucks and articulated boom lifts.
3. Assist in the troubleshooting of industrial electrical equipment and instrumentation, including the interpretation of basic to intermediate electrical diagrams.
4. Use of a wide variety of workshop equipment such as a lathe, mill, pillar drills and CNC plasma cutters; the candidate will also have access to a wide range of fabrication and welding equipment.
5. Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned according to the needs of the business.


Skills and Experience Required:
Right to live and work in UK
Level 3 in electrical installation, inspection and testing certification preferred
Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
Familiarity with the safe use of hand and power tools
Familiarity with interpreting risk assessments
Ability to interpret basic electrical diagrams
3-Phase experience and low voltage up to 415V


Beneficial Experience & Education:
GCSEs in mathematics/engineering/physics
1-2 years' experience working in an industrial setting
PLC / SCADA / HMI experience
Fault finding on PLC's
Previous fabrication skills


The Industrial Electrician will normally work Monday to Friday rotating shift pattern, with the following hours:
6:00-14:15 & 14:00-22:15
