Job Title: Multi-skilled Engineer
Location: Bolton
Salary: GBP35,000 - GBP40,000 + Pension + Holidays

The Company
A great opportunity to join a growing family business based in Bolton. Having won several new contracts, the business is recruiting a multi-skilled Engineer to help develop their engineering team. The role offers clear progression and interesting projects in addition to the day-to-day maintenance activities.

The Role
You will be responsible for all reactive and proactive maintenance within an FMCG food manufacturing environment, working to PPM schedules and you will manage the spare parts requirements, creating lists and ordering parts for the maintenance of equipment.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Ensuring reliability of machinery and plant equipment through excellent mechanical and electrical fault finding.
• High standards of cleanliness and organisation using 5S and lean principles.
• Issuing permit to work and controlling contractors on a regular basis.
• Accurately record breakdowns, control stock, and raise/amend preventative maintenance tasks.

Experience & Skills
We are looking for a skilled Engineer who is a real team player but is able to work with minimal supervision, plan their own workload and prioritise tasks, ideally with experience in food manufacturing.

Additional experience includes:

• Familiar with problem solving techniques such as Root Cause Analysis, 5 Why, Fishbone
• analysis, etc.
• Educated to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
• Passed 18th edition electrical standards.
• Knowledge of compliance regarding LOLER, PUWER, DSEAR, PSSR etc. would be desirable.
