Civil Design Engineer Job Description/ Role

• Design and deliver water and waste projects in accordance with industry and British standards
• Undertake civil engineering design calculations, report writing, and sketches
• Perform civil and hydraulic design and analysis of pipelines, chambers, and structures
• Prepare civil general arrangement drawings and details as required
• Work closely with CAD team to transfer design outputs into project models and drawing outputs
• Scope site investigation works to assist design and construction
• Interface with other designers when appropriate (including Structural, Electrical & Mechanical Design) internal and external design companies
• Manage stakeholders and third parties to ensure accurate programming of works
• Prioritize Health & Safety as a top priority
• Prepare documents to comply with the designer s responsibilities under the CDM regulations
• Provide timely production of design outputs and associated documentation
• Attend design, progress, and site meetings as required
• Offer mentoring and support to junior staff, which may include acting as an ICE delegated engineer
• Identify the temporary works required for permanent work design
• Engage in communication with clients as part of project delivery.

Civil Design Engineer - What my client will need from you

• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Working towards chartership with relevant institution
• Excellent ICT skills
• Knowledge of multi-disciplinary engineering design (advantageous)
• Knowledge of CDEs (advantageous)
• Experience in structural, geotechnical, or hydraulic design (advantageous)
• Proficient in Microsoft packages
• Strong communication skills
• Innovative thinking ability
• Strong customer and stakeholder focus
