Semi-Skilled Operator (Debag/Inserts/Paint/Triage/Partmark)


We're working with Hamble Aerostructures, a leading supplier of major civil and military aircraft structures, to help them find multiple Operatives covering a range of different duties in the composites production division.

What Operator roles are available?

Triage Operator

You'll triage countersinks, including measuring and re-countersinking where needed pre-delivery. You'll install metallic inserts to composite detail panels, and edge seal panels in preparation for painting.

Paint Operator

You'll oversee the application of Primer paint schemes to a variety of metallic and composite components. You'll also apply resin and fillers to components, in line with customer specifications and control. You'll use a variety of instructions, and follow detailed drawing and specifications to produce high quality parts for a variety of aircraft.

Debag Operator

You'll work on a variety of programs focused around Mould Tool cleaning, preparation and movement for the lay-up process. You'll use various machinery including Forklift, Hubtex, AGV and MGV to move fixtures. You'll move panels from post trim to the next process, and operate the MES system.

Inserts Operator

You'll install metallic inserts to composite detail panels using resin systems, and oversee the successful delivery of panels throughout the composites value stream.

What do I need to succeed?

You'll already have experience in composite detail manufacturing, such as drilling or countersinks, as well as working with composite carbon fibre.

We're looking for individuals with a good level of dexterity and the ability to adapt quickly. Numeracy and literacy skills are essential, as you'll need to read and understand technical documentation. A solid grasp of health and safety practices is crucial, along with effective communication skills and the drive to succeed both individually and as part of a team.

Shifts and Payrates

There are multiple shift patterns on offer for this role - when you apply, we'll be happy to talk you through these in more detail.

Early Shift

Hours: 06:00-14:15 (Mon-Thu). 06:00-12:00 (Fri)

Starting Salary: 24,998

Uplifted Salary (once AO stamp obtained): 25,748

Late Shift

Hours: 14:15-22:30 (Mon-Thu). 12:00-18:00 (Fri)

Starting Salary: 29,997 ( 24,998 + 20% shift allowance)

Uplifted Salary (once AO stamp obtained): 30,897 ( 25,748 + 20% shift allowance)

Night Shift

Hours: 22:30-06:00 (Mon-Thu) / 18:00-01:30 (Fri)

Starting Salary: 31,247 ( 24,998 + 25% shift allowance)

Uplifted Salary (once AO stamp obtained): 32,185 ( 25,748 + 25% shift allowance)
