The Agriculture division manufactures and supplies feed blocks, minerals and boluses containing trace elements and minerals for livestock in the UK, US and Europe. Following the disposal of the Agricultural Supplies division in late 2022, the business entered an exciting period of growth and evolution. The senior leadership team has welcomed some high calibre, new members as of late, including the Head of Finance: Agriculture, who are all eager to push for modernisation & improvements. The successful applicant for this sought-after Financial Controller position will be reporting into the Head of Finance: Agriculture and have a dotted line to the Group FD. They will also be spear heading the UK Agriculture Divisions finance team. The chosen candidate will be a key member of the both the agriculture divisional team and the Group team, with a small team of direct reports.. They will be spearheading the overall finance function of the division and lead on the budgets and forecasting process. You will also be closely involved in both operational business planning and strategy. The successful candidate for this unique & exciting position will be an 'agent for change'. In addition, this individual will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to ensure all compliance with corporate governance is adhered to and uphold stringent financial disciplines / controls. The day-to-day responsibilities of this Financial Controller role will include: * Managing a small team of direct reports within Agriculture/Head Office Finance Team and take a lead on the performance management by setting a clear direction for the team * Be a key member of the Carr's Group Senior Management team * Ensuring that an appropriate control environment is developed and maintained within relevant units * You will be taking a lead on internal and external reporting processes both monthly and annually, including Group consolidation * Taking ownership of the annual budget and re forecasting processes across Head Office and Agriculture and ensure alignment with strategic and operational business planning * Working closely with business unit management and other key stakeholders to deliver financial operational plans within a timely manner * Being focused on delivery of high-quality results to meet requirements both internally and externally, with a focus being on technical accuracy of accounting and reporting * Having the ability to manage key stakeholder relationships across all levels and departments * Liaising with auditors both internally and externally The Successful Applicant The successful candidate for this exciting & unique senior position will be fully qualified finance professional. Experience working within a PLC will be advantageous, as well as understanding direct and indirect UK taxes. Experience in managing multi-company planning and monthly consolidation processes within an everchanging environment is going to be beneficial going into this position. The selected applicant will be responsible for bringing new ideas and solutions to the table, so the ability to demonstrate prior experience of tangibly adding value to a business will be essential. You will have a customer focus and be able to build excellent working relationships both internally and externally.
