Independent Living Officer Bromsgrove, Worcestershire £35,690.20 per annum plus car allowance Full Time, Permanent Closing Date: Monday 22nd April @ 9am Interview Date: Thursday 2nd May 2024 – in person We have an opportunity for an Independent Living Officer to become part of a unique and important customer facing team within our Independent Living community. The Role Visual presence and face to face contact is key to ensure our customers have the assistance they need to be happy and safe in their property. Our Independent Living Officers will deal with queries, incidents and issues that may occur in and around the independent living schemes. You will support and encourage social interaction and be creative and imaginative to deliver events and activities. Undertaking regular Health and Safety inspections, to include fire alarm and water testing you will ensure that legislation is adhered to and report any issues. You will also report any communal repairs or defects and follow through until completion. Customers living in our properties are diverse and often vulnerable and the role can be very challenging so you will need to have a flexible, caring, understanding and positive approach to assist them with any issues and concerns that may arise. About You We are looking for an individual with experience of working within a customer based environment that acknowledges and understands vulnerabilities. You will be working in a team so must have the ability to be a good team player and work alongside your team members and bdht’s wider team. Good communication and interpersonal skills are key along with being able to use IT based systems and MS Office. Having an understanding of welfare benefits, including Housing Benefit claims, would be preferable although this is not essential. The use of a current driving licence and access to an appropriately insured vehicle is a requirement for the post and essential car user allowance will be paid where applicable.
