Engineering Planner


Howdens are recruiting Engineering Planners on a days-based role, to join our Engineering team, based at our specialist solid surface production facility at Holme on Spalding Moor, East Yorkshire. Reporting to the Group Lead Planner, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop and manage engineering planning systems, planning standards and development of CMMS. You will be working alongside Shift & Days maintenance teams and interfacing with operations teams in the pursuit of planning efficient and effective maintenance tasks. What will I be doing? - Integrating Health and Safety into daily work identifying areas to continuously improve. - Develop, implement and maintain a work order preparation and staging process. - Produce work packs which contain all the necessary paperwork, reference materials, parts and specialist equipment to complete the task, including pitstops. - Communication of task cross functionally. - Host planning meetings for customers to influence planning priorities. - Assign work orders to the appropriate skill sets. - Source and collate parts required for planned tasks. - Provide assistance to engineering stores in producing job kits. - Monitor and manage planning KPI’s. - Develop and manage a closed loop feedback/improvement process for planned tasks. What are we looking for? - An experienced, time served craftsperson with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in an FMCG environment. - Previous maintenance planning experience. - Previous data analysis experience, for the purpose of making improvements. - Strong technical, fault-finding and diagnostic skills, to find and alleviate root causes of problems. - A team player who can lead others in the resolution of technical issues.
