Job Title: M&E Projects Manager, Norwich, Interim Reference: 367 Our client is seeking an experienced Interim Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Projects Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of mechanical and electrical projects within our client’s organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of M&E projects, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, quality control, and stakeholder management. This role requires a strong technical background in mechanical and electrical engineering, as well as excellent project management skills. Main deliverables of the M&E Projects Manager include but are not limited to: 1. Project Planning: * Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines. * Identify resource requirements, including personnel, equipment, and materials. * Define project budget and monitor expenditures to ensure projects stay within budgetary constraints. 2. Execution and Monitoring: * Oversee the execution of M&E projects, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications. * Monitor project progress and address any issues or delays promptly. * Conduct regular site visits to inspect workmanship, safety practices, and quality standards. 3. Stakeholder Management: * Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders. * Facilitate effective communication between all parties involved in M&E projects. * Address stakeholder concerns or requests in a timely and professional manner. 4. Procurement and Supply Chain Management: * Coordinate procurement activities, including sourcing vendors, obtaining bids, and negotiating contracts. * Manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. * Monitor inventory levels and coordinate material shipments to project sites as needed. 5. Quality Assurance and Compliance: * Implement quality control measures to ensure M&E projects meet industry standards and regulatory requirements. * Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance with project specifications and applicable codes. * Address any non-conformities or deficiencies promptly and implement corrective actions as necessary. 6. Team Leadership and Development: * Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and support staff. * Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members to foster professional growth and development. * Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and innovation. Skills, Experience & Qualifications Needed: * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; or relevant experience. * Proven experience (10 years) in project management, particularly in the mechanical and electrical engineering field. * Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and power distribution. * Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully leading project teams to achieve project objectives. * Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels. * Proficiency in project management software tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or equivalent. * Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations. * Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PE (Professional Engineer) are a plus.
