Job description Role: Audit Assistant Job Description We are currently seeking an Audit Assistant to join a Top 50 accountancy practice. The role is a training position and full training, and support will be given to develop your skills and abilities for a long-term career within our clients practice. The successful candidate will receive full funding and support to study AAT/ACCA qualification, including study leave and time off for exams. You will need at least 1 year’s UK practice experience, have exceptional attention to detail and possess excellent Excel skills, be positive, confident and have a can-do- attitude. Our client operates multiple offices in the regions of Central and Southern England and has set forth ambitious goals to expand their business. The Audit Assistant role is based at their Oxford offices, as a permanent full-time role. However, the company is open to discussing and adjusting the working arrangements to accommodate your lifestyle, including hybrid and flexible working options for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities: * Building productive working relationships within Shaw Gibbs and with clients as required. * Developing and applying your technical knowledge through on the job training and formal qualifications. * Preparing audit working papers for the areas that you are involved, including but not limited to bank, fixed assets, wages and salaries, debtors and creditors. * Attending clients stocktakes and reporting findings. * Assisting more senior members of staff in other areas of the audit file. * Preparing notes to summarise your findings and recommendations for the senior’s, manager’s, and partner’s attention. * Posting the audit clients’ trial balances into statutory accounts format and updating disclosures as necessary. * Using accounting software to provide accurate reporting for Managers, Partners, and clients. * Preparing basic corporation tax computations for audit clients. You must have a minimum of 3 A Levels at grades B, B, C or higher Strong aptitude for IT, specifically Excel Exceptional attention to detail Proven communication skills, verbal and written A positive, confident, and proactive attitude Enjoy working as part of a team and self-motivated Willingness to undertake and succeed in a range of professional studies Relevant work experience would be great but not essential Type of contract: Permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week) Hours of work: Monday - Friday , times can vary as flexibility can be offered Salary c£23,000 – £28,000 per annum dependant on experience Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
