Barista


If you have a good coffee and related product knowledge as well as an understanding of operating a grinder, espresso machine and milk frother then we want to hear from you. We're on the look-out for a Barista who wants to put their excellent coffee-making and customer service skills to good use.
This is initially a temporary 1 month contract for one of our clients based in Guildford.
The working hours are Monday - Friday 08:00 - 15:00, this is temporary agency work.
11.44 per hour

General skills
In this role you will have:
A good appreciation for coffee and specialty drinks, and understand the fundamentals of bean grinding and frothing
Great customer service skills and knowledge
Great communication and interpersonal skills
Good level of literacy and numeracy
An ability to work unsupervised and deliver quality work
Good listening skills
Knowledge of basic safety at work and hygiene procedures

Main Duties/Responsibilities
Your typical day will include these duties:
Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea and speciality beverages
Maintain coffee grinding and brewing with equipment, accessories, and supplies
Clean and sanitise work areas, utensils, equipment, surface and seating areas throughout the day and when closing
Serve customers and take orders
Describe menu items and suggest products to customers
Receive and process customer payments
Order, receive and distribute stock supplies
Food preparation and service, also general management of the area
Speak and interact with both new and regular customers
Follow health and safety guidelines
Adhere to recipes and presentations for food and beverage items
Contribute to a positive team environment
Promote coffee consumption by educating customers

Qualifications/Licences/Certifications/Experience
Food Hygiene level 1 certificate
Experience making and serving coffee
Some previous experience in a retail or hospitality role such as Waiter/Waitressing, front of house, coffee shop or caf experience
Experienced and comfortable with working busy shifts
