Teacher of Psychology

The role:

This is an excellent opportunity for a well-qualified, enthusiastic graduate teacher to join a popular and dynamic Psychology department.

The successful candidate will be required to teach A Level Psychology to pupils in Years 12 and 13. They will need to be dynamic and enthusiastic, with a flair for creativity.

The Department:
Psychology is taught at A Level only, following the AQA Specification A syllabus. It is an extremely popular subject at A Level with our students and is well-established within the Sixth Form. The department consists of two members of staff - the Head of Psychology and an additional teacher. All of our students are enthusiastic and willing to learn.

Academic standards in Psychology are high, with most students expected to achieve A - C in the A Level examination. However, within the selective intake the ability range of Psychology students is broad, and the department has a strong focus on the monitoring and tracking process to ensure there is support for students to achieve the highest grades of which they are capable. The department is well resourced, and facilities include interactive whiteboards, educational DVDs, interactive resource booklets and the development of the Psychology intranet.
