This is a permanent position based in Worcestershire with a competitive salary of GBP40,221 - GBP43,421 per annum

Purpose of Job:
Fulfil statutory roles of an AMHP per Mental Health Act 1983 and Code of Practice.
Provide consultative role within Adult Services, enhancing understanding of Mental Health Act.
Collaborate with health partners, Police, Courts, and other agencies for Mental Health Act assessments.
Manage complex/forensic cases using expert knowledge and skills.
Supervise and support AMHP trainees.

Key Responsibilities of the Approved Mental Health Professional:
Ensure statutory compliance within Mental Health Act 1983, Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and relevant legislation.
Independently assess the need for hospital admissions, Community Treatment orders, and Guardianship under Mental Health Act 1983.
Conduct timely Mental Health Act assessments across various settings.
Prepare and present reports for Magistrates Court applications.
Assist in Acting Nearest Relatives appointments.
Prioritise AMHP referrals and deputise for Team Manager.
Contribute to staff recruitment and selection.

Requirements of the Approved Mental Health Professional:
A recognised qualification and registration in Social Work, Community Psychiatric Nursing, or Occupational Therapy.
Must have Extensive experience as an AMHP
Must have substantial background in conducting MHA assessments.
Valid Warrant to practice as an AMHP with evidence of its maintenance.
Practice Educator Teacher award or equivalent, Level 1 qualification in Essential Digital Skills, or evidence of strong IT skills in Microsoft Office.
