Purchasing Manager

Blue Arrow Derby are proud to be working in partnership with the leading specialist steel fabricator in the East Midlands and they are looking to recruit for a Purchasing Manager to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.

About The Purchasing Manager Role

Our client is recruiting for a steelwork/engineering bias Purchasing Manager, working within their office facilities alongside the foreman.

Hours: Monday - Thursday 8am-5pm & Friday 8am-3:30pm

Salary: 30,000 - 45,000 (dependant on experience)

What will I be doing in the Purchasing Manager role?

• Procurement of contract specific and non-contract specific raw materials (sections, profiles, fixings etc.) to project/programme requirements.
• Procurement of processed contract specific and non-contact specific materials (machined items, section bending, laser cut sections, cut and drilled sections etc.)
• Coordination with suppliers
• Sourcing new suppliers and improving current supply chain.
• Maintaining and managing approved supplier list
• Monitoring supplier performance and reporting on supply chain performance as required.
• Arranging galvanising/powder coating/painting/other finishes to contract requirements.

Previous experience and requirements

• Previous experience using Strumis CRM Software (desirable)
• Knowledge in CE Marking - BS EN 1090 up to Execution Class Four (desirable)
• Must have extensive experience in structural or architectural steelwork markets.

Where is the role based?

Alfreton - With onsite parking and a train station close by.
