About the role Title – Security Officer Pay Rate – £11.76 P/hr. Location – Sheffield/Rotherham Shift Timings – Relief role, with a minimum of 30 hours per week. Must be able to work both Days – 06:00 – 18:00 and Nights – 18:00 – 06:00, as well as have the ability to pick up shifts last minute Must be able to drive! You will be working as a relief security officer, covering various locations within the Sheffield/Rotherham area. The site you would be required to work in will vary from distribution centres, courts and government buildings. The duties vary depending on the site, however would include gatehouse (booking in/out wagons and drivers), front of house/reception, checking ID’s and issuing passes. You will also be required to ensure the safety and security of both staff and visitors alike, as well as conducting yourself in a professional manner at all times. As there is the element of inserting details into the systems, the right candidate must be confident in their IT ability, as well as have a valid UK drivers licence is required with access to your own vehicle as this role is based in multiple sites. Your main responsibilities may include: Booking in/out wagons and drivers from site Inserting details into the computer on site. Front of house/reception duties Look out for, and immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site. Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage. To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers. Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process. To ensure check calls are being carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's). To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incident To succeed in this role, you will need the following: SIA License. Valid UK drivers licence Minimum of 6 months experience in security is preferred. Must be competent in IT Good communication skills 5-year checkable work/career history. Experience in a similar role, would be an advantage Physically fit to undertake given tasks. Possess the ability to work under pressure.
