Security officer


About the role Title – Security Officer Pay Rate – £11.56 P/hr. Location – Wakefield Shift Timings – 4 days on, 4 days off, 4 nights on, 4 nights off - 42 hrs per week. Days – 06:00 – 18:00 Nights – 18:00 – 06:00 You will be working in a distribution centre for a well-known company, which holds various food stock. As a security officer, your main role is to be based in the gatehouse, booking in/out wagons and drivers, as well as remaining vigilant and alert to your environment, monitoring for both internal and external theft. You will also be required to ensure the safety and security of both staff and visitors alike, as well as conducting yourself in a professional manner at all times. As there is the element of inserting details of the vehicles into the system, the right candidate must be confident in their IT ability. What will you get in return? Your main responsibilities may include: Booking in/out wagons and drivers from site Inserting details into the computer on site. Look out for, and immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site. Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage. Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening. To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers. Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process. To ensure check calls are being carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's). To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incident To succeed in this role, you will need the following: SIA License. Minimum of 6 months experience in security is preferred. Must be competent in IT Good communication skills 5-year checkable work/career history. Experience in a similar role, would be an advantage Physically fit to undertake given tasks.
