Totton College offers vocational courses to school leavers and adults, covering Diplomas, Apprenticeships and Supported Internships. Who are we looking for? The college is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed individual to support our learners undertaking Supported Internships and Employability Courses within our Pathways Provision. Enabling our learners to develop the necessary skills, knowledge, and behaviour to secure permanent sustained employment. This will be achieved by assisting learners to discover appropriate work placements, and accompanying them into the workplace, whilst building towards independent working. You will develop relationships with employers to secure meaningful work placements for learners with SEND as well as fulfilling the need of the employer by providing appropriate support and intervention strategies. This role is suitable for dynamic individuals who take satisfaction from helping others achieve their goals. Training can be provided, and staff development is actively encouraged for individuals who are motivated by this role. Due to the nature of the role, flexible working is essential and must be able to manage your own diary. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Drawing on the Supported Employment model, work with learners, and their circle of support, to complete vocational profiles and input into individual development plans which identify young people’s needs and support requirements. Support and coach learners, on a one to one and group basis, to develop employability, travel and functional skills within a variety of settings including the workplace and on community projects. Use agreed tracking systems to record and monitor progress of learners against individual learning plans. Implementation of the College’s Employer Engagement Strategy to support learners to secure appropriate work experience placements and access paid employment opportunities. Building effective relationships with employers to advise and/or train them in meeting the individual needs of learners during work placements. Complete work-based risk assessments to ensure health and safety measures and requirements are in place to support learners in the workplace. Assist learners in undertaking job searches, applying for job vacancies and completing Access to Work Applications. The successful applicant will need to have experience in delivering careers education and guidance to students.  If you enjoy a challenge and seek the rewards found in transforming the lives of young people and adults, then we want to hear from you.
