Remarketing Vehicle Inspector


Staffline are currently recruiting a Remarketing Vehicle Inspector to work for our premium automotive client based in Thorne, to inspect, authorise and quality check refurbishment work on ex contract and off-lease vehicles and maximise resale values through various selective refurbishment / vehicle grading activities. This exciting opportunity will allow you to work for one of the biggest car manufacturers, onsite at their Thorne Vehicle Distribution Centre, and work closely with their suppliers and contract partners. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:00am to 16:15pm, contracted at 37.5 hours a week. The rate of pay for this role is dependent upon experience. Your Time at Work As a Remarketing Vehicle Inspector, your duties will include: - Make business decisions on vehicle refurbishment to optimise the car condition and sales opportunities to our retailer network, all within agreed budgets. - Conduct audits against contracted partners vehicle condition reports / inspections to verify accuracy of damage being recorded by supplier. - Ensure smooth operation, including presentation of vehicles on auction sale day (online or physical) and be the main point of contact for any urgent issues highlighted by the Auction Manager or supplier. - Diagnosis and resolution of problems to enable vehicles to be offered for sale or necessary action taken to withdraw from sale. - Conduct VDC refurbishment and vehicle preparation audits, and score accordingly against the supplier KPI matrix. Engage in dialogue and highlight quality of work to confirm the Companies stance with suppliers in conjunction with company requirements. - Influence external auction and refurbishment management teams to work to required quality standards whilst working within budgetary controls. - Conduct grade audits at regional auction in line with agreed programme with supplier. Report outcome of audits and where required create a plan to rectify performance. - Negotiate with sub-contractors to determine volumes, quality, and productivity levels. - Daily communication with contracted partners teams, supervisors, and suppliers to manage daily workloads and allocations. - Attend pre- and post-sale briefings to advise on vehicle quality and presentation and explain appropriate scoring for all criteria. - Collate information on disputes with suppliers relating to damage charges, influencing decisions through the explanation to suppliers of inspecting vehicles for damage to thus determine prices of vehicles. - Engage with retailer network so that they understand the Companies grading system, to optimise vehicle sales and encourage more retailers to closed auctions. Our Perfect Worker Our ideal Remarketing Vehicle Inspector would have previous experience within a similar role in the Automotive Trade such as Vehicle Inspector, Vehicle Appraiser, Vehicle Refurbishment, Vehicle Auditor or SMART Repairer. Essential Skills: - Minimum 5 years' experience working in technical vehicle preparation, to include experience of vehicle inspection/appraisal, cosmetic repair, and quality control. - Skilled in any of body shop, technical repair, or vehicle inspections/appraisal/auditing. - Excellent communication skills. - Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills. - Ability to work on own initiative and work as a team member. Desired Skills: - A level or equivalent. - The ability to work flexibly when the business requires. - Work to deadlines, quickly and efficiently.
