Manager, Garden Centre

GARDEN CENTRE MANAGER Our client is a well thought of Garden Centre business with sites around London. Are you looking for a new challenge? They now have a requirement for an experienced Manager for their site near Richmond. This is a prestgious site with an excellent Horticulturall reputation. Consequently they require a Garden Centre Manager/Manager with Seasonal expertise to manage the day to day operations of the garden centre to achieve budgeted sales and profitability. Your role will involve : - (i) Sales - organise staff to order stock and merchandise to achieve optimum sales. (ii) Gross Profit – monitoring EPOS (prices), minimise wastage, pilferage and other shrinkage. Ensure delivery notes match purchase orders on EPOS. (iii) Costs - control staff costs, heat and light, repairs and maintenance, sundry and petty cash items. (iv) Formulating and actioning a clear short and long term plan for the Garden Centre operations. Set correct priorities for work load. v) The smooth and correct running of EPOS system including tills, scanners and PDQ machines. GENERAL MAIN DUTIES Security Personnel Administration Till and Cash ControlPurchasing, Merchandising and Stock Control Customer and Sales Service Health and Safety Day to day management of the site. The ideal candidate should come from a seasonal retail business. Garden Centre, DIY or similiar. Able to run a team and recruit seasonal staff Have a hands on approach to your management Looking to develop this site further. able to work closely with the directors of the business.
