Production Team Leader


Smart Solutions are working with an award winning manufacturer who are recruiting a Production Team Leader to join the team in Swansea. The Production Team Leader will have full responsibility and accountability for all aspects of the production process which will be supported by the Production Manager.

Key Responsibilities of the Production Team Leader :

  • Ensure handling of materials and product is in accordance with required quality standards.
  • Ensure that all production workstations are correctly equipped to run the scheduled finished goods, including completion of all required documentation.
  • Allocate operatives to tasks in accordance with production requirements that they are fully trained to conduct.
  • Ensure operatives are aware of required production targets and regularly monitor performance against targets.
  • Utilise resources to resolve all issues encountered within the production area and escalate to the Production shift manager if unable to resolve.
  • Full responsibility for housekeeping of area.
  • Verifying completion of all required records and documentation for the process to a high standard
  • Manage and oversee activity of employees in your area

Requirements of the Production Team Leader :

Essential

  • Significant experience in coordinating/leading teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • General secondary or vocational qualifications (e.g. GCSEs ), including English and Maths.
  • Competent in use of computer systems/programs

Desirable

  • Experience of working with electronic assembly operation
  • Team Management/Supervision, e.g. ILM
  • Knowledgeable of Continuous Improvement Techniques.
  • Use of Microsoft packages and MRP systems.

Qualifications and training:

  • Related industry experience
  • HNC/HND/Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
