Design Manager - Life Sciences - Limerick

A tier one contractor that specialise in the delivery of large scale projects across various different construction sectors, is actively recruiting a Design Manager for a life sciences scheme in Limerick. This client is widely known as one of the biggest names in the construction industry across Ireland and the UK, and deliver various types of projects from resi and commercial to civils and life sciences. As Design Manager you will be directly involved from pre-construction, liaising with client and site teams to ensure timely and target-met delivery of the project. With a strong pipeline for the coming years in the Munster region, you would be joining the company at a great time, giving you the chance to progress your career to Senior Design Manager level, with a company renowned for the preference to promote from within. Design Manager Key Responsibilities: • Assist in developing Design Delivery Schedule along with the client, Project Manager, Design team and consultants. • Control the design process, from cradle to grave • Regular meetings with the production team and ensuring all technical issues are addressed immediately • Manage and coordinate external consultants • Liaise with key personnel within the project team in preparation of project costing and design works • Ensure consultants prepare the detailed design by Employers Requirement and Contractors Proposals • Manage and review the design development process ensuring value engineering and buildability are considered • Assist Project Manager in incorporating onto a tracking sheet all internal and external design and cost issues. • Manage the distribution and production of project workload within the project team and design consultant team.
