About the company My client is a multi-disciplined Civil Engineering contractor, with its parent group turning over in circa £5B. They work with both public and private sector customers in the specialist sectors of rail, highways, and engineering. Their clients include HS2, Siemens, Network Rail, Highways England, and well-known residential and commercial developers. They deliver nationally but are organised regionally. As a company, they pride themselves on the technical capabilities of their staff, their high standard of work, and the amount of repeat business they are rewarded. The specific Civil Engineering arm is turning over approximately £500M from work including Highways Infrastructure, Airport projects, 278 works, Landscaping, and the occasional work on Rail Depots. The projects involve extensive concrete works, deep drainage, and heavy earthworks and they range in value from £1m - £150M. They have offices based in the Midlands, Peterborough, Kent, Surrey, and Hertfordshire and are very sociable- always hosting a summer party and a Christmas party, allowing you to interact with other teams on a personal level, staff morale is exceptionally high and a prime focus for the business. About the role The company is looking for a sub-agent to join its team on an infrastructure project at Heathrow. You will be working as part of the re-surfacing team ensuring that the work is carried out to the highest possible standard and that the team under you is being as efficient as possible during the project. The company is looking to take on someone who can grow within the company. The role will involve establishing and maintaining effective relationships with other stakeholders, agencies, authorities, and suppliers, and working with them to establish new and improved ways of working ensuring that value for money is delivered. Liaise with other team members associated with the design of the allocated schemes as well as provide guidance and assistance to junior members of the team. An important part of the job will be to maintain accurate records on the allocated projects and ensure all necessary construction-related Quality Management and Health and Safety documentation is prepared and adhered to. Manage the production and regular updating. Ensure all projects comply with health and safety regulations and CDM requirements. Ensure that all financial information is accurate, checked, and available for internal reporting requirements and inclusion within applications. Taking responsibility for ensuring Supply Chain Partners deliver to agreed standards. Benefits and rewards The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive salary of £50,000 - £60,000. Requirements * HNC educated or working towards HNC or relevant demonstrable experience. * Relevant professional/vocational qualification. * Project engineer with a good understanding of delivery and construction. * Proven written and verbal communication skills. * Excellent planning and organisational skills, to manage a range of complex activities and to achieve given targets and objectives. * Excellent time management skills to manage a complex workload prioritise and set deadlines and cope with changing demands. * Budget and contract management awareness
