Quantity Surveyor

Assistant Quantity Surveyor Location: Southwark, London Role Overview: Assist in the anagement of contractual and financial aspects of construction projects, helping to ensure adherence to budgets and completion within projected timelines. Key Responsibilities: * Assist with preparation of monthly payment applications and assist the negotiation of contractual variations with clients. * Provide support with measuring and value works done on-site and track changes to designs. * Assisting the analysis of site works completion with Project Managers and oversee subcontractor applications. * Review progress against works programme and control project budgets. * Help with the generation of monthly cost value reports (CVRs) and forecast project costs to completion. * Handle Early Warning Notices (EWNs) and Compensation Events (CEs). * Provide contract support to site Project Managers and manage cash flow & income forecasting. * Assess and mitigate commercial opportunities and risks, including review of client contracts. Skills and Experience Required: Essential: * Exposure to the construction industry, preferably in multi-utility & highways sector. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Proficiency in pre and post-contract work and advanced Excel & Data Analysis skills. * Ideally experience with NEC3 & JCT contracts, assisting with direct project delivery, and stakeholder management. Desired: * Previous HSQE experience in utilities, auditing experience, and knowledge of ISO management systems. * Utility background (Gas/Water/Electric), NRSWA Certification, and a valid full UK/EU Driving Licence. Qualifications: * Degree or similar qualification in Quantity Surveying. * Desired: Chartership status (RICS) or similar. Additional Information: * Travel to UK sites may be required with occasional overnight stays. * Flexibility for out-of-hours works, including weekends and occasional nights, is necessary.
