Design Manager A rare opening for a Design Manager to join an established regional contractor in Hertfordshire who operate in the Education, Commercial, Mixed-Use and Science sectors. They are small enough to be friendly and personable and large enough to offer you structure and progression They work on general contracting schemes up to around £20m Extremely low staff turnover Flexible working / home working Sites generally within an hour of their office Strong client base/ lots of repeat business Modern/ refurbished offices Recently refurbished offices Committed team with strong skill set. An additional days holiday is awarded after 5, 7 & 10 years’ service up to a maximum of 28 days. * Pension * Private Medical cover * All professional membership subscriptions and training are covered. * Annual free health checks and flu jabs. * Employee Assistance Programme with mental health and well being support. * Eye tests and glasses paid for when regularly using a computer screen. * Regular pay reviews * Continued career progression The role: Design Manager As a Design Manager you will be responsible for technical compliance and design management mainly at early feasibility and procurement stages, with also with involvement monitoring the on-site Design Coordination and managing external consultants. Joining an established design team, you will be working on a range of schemes, typically between £5-12m in value. As a Design Manager you will lead design process on D & B projects to produce accurate coordinated information in line with the agreed specification, programme and cost plan. Reporting directly to the Head Of Design You will enjoy a flexible working pattern between home, site, and their office Working hours 8.30 - 5 with 1 hour for lunch The right person - Design Manager - Hertfordshire Experience as a Design Manager from early planning stages through to project completion.
