Accounts Assistant Bookkeeper


Accounts Assistant required for a dynamic construction business based in Rotherham (additional office in the South).

This is a stand-alone role. Reporting to the Director the Accounts Assistant would be responsible for:

  • Maintaining the sales and purchase ledgers.
  • Dealing with contractors/CIS.
  • Credit control.
  • Month-end checks.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Expenses/credit card reconciliations.
  • Checking and processing employee expenses.
  • Processing timesheets.
  • Liaising with the external accountant on a regular basis.
  • Attending fortnightly finance team meetings.
  • Other ad hoc duties as required.

This role is not limited to any industry although candidates from a construction background would be desirable:

  • Previous experience within a fast-paced, ever-changing environment is required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Working knowledge of Sage is desirable.
  • Good IT skills including Excel (Pivot Tables and VLookups) are essential.
  • You must be a self self-starter able to demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative and prioritise your workload.
