Renewables Heating Engineer


Renewable's Heating Engineer required in Hampshire

We are currently looking for a Heating Engineer with experience in renewables, to deliver an efficient, compliant, and consistently high standard of Air Source and Ground source repairs, servicing, and installations to all properties in accordance with current building regulations as amended, ensuring that customer satisfaction is at the heart of every job you complete.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • To undertake Air Source and Ground source, repairs and/or installations to properties in an efficient and effective manner, ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with relevant policies and legislation.
  • To liaise with customers and other staff, as appropriate, to ensure all relevant individuals are aware of progress and action taken. In more complex cases to refer the matter to a senior member of staff to identify the necessary remedial action.
  • Ensure all works are completed in the most cost-effective manner, identify and preordering materials from suppliers when necessary, ensuring that the customer is advised of the order progress.
  • To cover out of hours emergency call out in accordance with the departmental rota to attend to emergencies out of hours when required.
  • To maintain the company vehicle in good condition, carry out regular vehicle safety checks reporting any defects promptly to the fleet manager.
  • To support and assist, as required, with the development of apprentices, improving engineers, and trainees.
  • Attend meetings as required and take an active role in developing your professional growth and personal development. Attending training as required.

Knowledge, skills, and experience required

  • Current holder of ACS (A Credited Certificate), minimum requirements being CCN1,
  • CEN1, HTR1, CKR1 (desirable).
  • WRAS Water Supply Regs
  • UHW10/HWSS Unvented DHW Storage Systems
  • NVQ Level 3 plumbing (or equivalent)
  • Unvented hot water systems (part G)
  • BPEC L3 or equivalent in heat pump installation
  • Level 3 heat pump system design
  • F-Gas Category 1
  • Experience installing Air/Ground source heat pumps.
  • A broad knowledge and technical understanding of all of policies, practices, and processes relevant to the provision of maintenance contracting, replacement of housing components, control systems, wet hot water, and heating systems.
  • Knowledge of the relevant applicable sections of the Building Regulations
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual, with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads without compromising on customer service.
  • Full Driving licence and ability to travel in a timely and efficient manner to attend customers properties, frequently located in areas not covered by public transport, Ability to undertake physically demanding work.
  • Good IT skills, along with excellent customer care skills.
