Animal Care Assistant

S3 Science is currently recruiting for a fantastic opportunity in Central Edinburgh as an Animal Care Assistant working in the Veterinary School. Join their dedicated team at the Hospital for Small Animals, a top-tier veterinary and teaching hospital renowned for its commitment to excellence in animal health and welfare. This is a full-time permanent role offering a starting salary of 26,500.

Key Responsibilities:

• Following protocols, carry out daily observations on patients
• Administer oral and topical medications
• Daily upkeep of the veterinary practice as well as cleaning of specialised equipment
• Work under the guidance of some of the UK's most experienced specialist vets and nurses, contributing to both immediate and long-term patient care
• Assist with diagnostic workups, treatments, and surgical services for animals with heart and chest conditions
• Provide versatile support across various hospital wards, adapting to different team needs

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a veterinary setting
• Ability to work independently and part of a team
• Excellent communication skills to be able to interact with team members and pet owners
• A full, clean driving license
