CSCS Semi Skilled Labourer / Cable Puller

Job Description: The CSCS Cable Puller Labourer is responsible for providing support to cable pullers and technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of various types of cables in construction sites, industrial facilities, or residential areas. They work under the guidance and direction of experienced technicians to ensure that cable installation tasks are completed efficiently and safely. Key Responsibilities: 1. Material Handling: Assist in the handling and transportation of cables, tools, and equipment to and from the work site. This may involve loading and unloading materials from vehicles and organizing them at the work site. 2. Site Preparation: Help prepare the work site for cable installation activities by clearing debris, setting up temporary structures, and securing work areas to ensure safety and efficiency. 3. Equipment Setup: Assist in the setup and assembly of cable pulling equipment such as winches, pulleys, and cable trays under the supervision of experienced technicians. 4. Cable Pulling Assistance: Support cable pullers in pulling, routing, and securing cables according to blueprints, schematics, or instructions provided by supervisors. This may include holding cables, feeding them through conduits, and assisting with cable termination. 5. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe work practices at all times. 6. Tool Maintenance: Help maintain and organize tools and equipment used for cable installation tasks. This may involve cleaning tools, performing basic maintenance, and reporting any issues or malfunctions to supervisors. 7. Cleanup and Maintenance: Assist in cleanup activities at the end of each workday, including collecting and disposing of waste materials, storing equipment properly, and maintaining a clean and organized work site. 8. Learning and Development: Take initiative to learn from experienced technicians and improve skills related to cable installation techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures. Qualifications: * Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card. * Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labor tasks in various weather conditions and environments. * Willingness to learn and follow instructions from experienced technicians. * Good communication and teamwork skills. * Attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety. * Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred but not required.
