Assistant Technical Manager


Our client is a leading company in the food and drink industry, dedicated to delivering high-quality products to their customers. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Technical Manager to join the team and support the Technical Manager in ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance are maintained across all operations. Position Overview: They are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Technical Manager to assist the Technical Manager with all technical functions on site. This role will involve stepping up and deputizing for the Technical Manager in their absence, as well as maintaining the audit schedule and overseeing both internal and external audits. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with customer COPs, implementing BRC requirements, and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: * Assist the Technical Manager with all technical functions on site. * Step up and deputize for the Technical Manager in their absence. * Maintain the audit schedule and be present for all internal and external audits. * Close out non-conformities to customer COPs by engaging with site teams. * Implement BRC requirements relating to internal audits. * Ensure the site maintains compliance and is audit-ready at all times. * Demonstrate good leadership qualities and the ability to work effectively within a team. Qualifications and Skills: * Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field preferred. * Previous experience in a similar role within the food industry is required. * Strong understanding of HACCP and BRC standards. * Experience working with retailers and knowledge of their specific requirements. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. * Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. * Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and develop team members. Salary: £50,000-£55,000 - (Dependent on experience) The ideal candidate will be working in a similar position within food production.
