Managing Estimator

As well as Castleford, this role is easily accessible from Leeds, Barnsley, Doncaster, Rothwell, Oulton, Swillington, Garforth, Wetherby, Whinmoor, Oakwood, Bradford, Dewsbury, Wakefield, Headingley, Pontefract, Halifax, Rotherham, Sheffield, as well as Manchester and surrounding areas   This is a great opportunity to make a difference and the role comes with company car as well as annual bonus and other great benefits.  We’re working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.  Main ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Area Commercial Manager, the Managing Estimator will work closely with the Commercial Team and focus to achieve the forecasted budgets through the pricing of work and the effective management of the tendering process.  As Managing Estimator you will also be responsible for:  Negotiating and winning work contracts  Managing and developing effective relationships with new and existing customers, working well as a part of a team  Managing the production and submission of all pricing work for the contracting business whilst ensuring compliance with internal review procedures  Securing and developing new business opportunities, ensuring quality, competitive tenders are submitted, and key targeted contracts are won, taking into account business capacity, margins, financial and contractual risks  Undertaking pre-contract commercial reviews to identify opportunities and risks within proposed future contracts  Detailed analysis of subcontractor/supplier quotations for inclusion with tenders and producing and submitting tender handover report to the operations delivery team  Developing and influencing bid strategies and researching market trends and data for bid winning  Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures including Health and Safety, Environmental and Sustainability  Coach, lead and develop a motivated commercial team and Apprentices within the team to achieve team objectives and Business targets.  The Ideal CandidateSuitable candidates for the role of Managing Estimator will ideally have a commercial estimating background gained within highways surfacing however if you have experience working within a civil engineering environment then we would welcome your application.
