Grounds and Facilities operative

We are currently recruiting for a ground and facilities operative for our Salads Team, based at our site in St Mary Bourne, to be a vital part of our commitment to safety and sustainability. In this role you'll maintain our site facilities and grounds to the highest standards, ensuring safety and enhancing our local habitats. Your workspace will be varied from our chilled factory floors to our spectacular outdoor landscapes, so versatility is key. As a Ground and Facilities Operative your Key Responsibilities will include: Ensuring compliance with all legislation and hygiene procedures. Maintaining site facilities and grounds to maximize safety and local wildlife habitats. Safely operating machinery and conducting building maintenance tasks. Participating in safety communicating activities and support company safety initiatives. Our Ideal Candidate Looks Like: Collaborative and adaptable, with excellent communication skills. Able to work independently or as part of a team, following policies and procedures. Willing to raise concerns through prescribed channels for continuous improvement. Has previous mechanical experience and would be advantageous if has grinding skills too. Desirable certifications include forklift, fire awareness, manual handling, chain saw operation, and lawn care. Department HSE Job title Ground & Facilities Operative Reporting to Facilities & Estates Manager Based at St Mary Bourne Direct reports None Job purpose To maintain site facilities and grounds to a high standard, that will ensure site safety and enhance local habitats. This will involve office hours plus flexibility for evening and weekend work when required. Key responsibilities and accountabilities Employees have a duty to take care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by employees’ actions at work.
