Job Title: Finance Manager Location: Belfast Duration: Full Time or Part time Permanent position Hours: The employer will consider full time or part time hours, between 8.30am and 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and between 8.30am and 4.30pm on Fridays Salary: £50,000k - £55,000k. Benefits on a permanent contract include: Eligible to participate in a performance bonus scheme that provides an opportunity to earn 10-15% on target bonus. This role is also eligible for a company car. On behalf of our client, a top Northern Ireland company, delivering positive change with a forward looking attitude, we are seeking a Finance Manager to lead their Finance Team and support the Finance Director in providing a confidential and customer focused finance service to the organisation and to assist the Company and Group in achieving their Corporate objectives. The candidate will have overall responsibility for the Finance Department, providing leadership and direction to a team of 7 individuals, via 2 direct reports, including responsibility for roles and responsibilities, hiring of staff and team structure. You will also ensure the team are adequately trained to performing their duties; developing the team as required and performing regular appraisal of performance along with delegating and managing such activities as may be appropriate for the effectiveness of the accounting function and so, the ability to work in a team and communication skills are vital. You will also prepare the necessary accounts and reports for Company to ensure that legal, regulatory and audit requirements are fulfilled, and to liaise with the Company Auditors and tax advisers on matters related to these accounts. The candidate will also ensure the Finance Director together with the rest of the Senior Management Team are provided with the financial and management information and advice required to support the operation of the business. This includes oversight of the internal monthly financial reporting (monthly management accounts). You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing Business Plans, Budgets and Forecasts in a timely manner to meet the needs of the Company’s Board and Management, regulation and the Company’s shareholders along with preparation of monthly / quarterly reporting for internal departments, including discussion of these reports with department heads, therefore excellent organisational skills are necessary. A key role is ensuring all obligations of the company are met in respect of monitoring the tax position of the business, including preparation of corporate tax returns and oversight of all other tax responsibilities (such as PAYE and VAT returns) and it is vital to understand how changes in the UK tax framework affect the overall performance and value of the business. You will be asked to have oversight over the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Ledgers, including cash collection and debt recovery services. Essential criteria * Qualified Accountant – either Chartered, Certified or CIMA. * 5 years’ relevant experience within an accounting environment, dealing with account packages, corporate entities, commercial businesses and consumers, preparing statutory accounts and budgeting and forecasting. * IT literate, particularly with Microsoft Excel. * Ability to process high volumes of data with speed and accuracy, using excellent organisational and time management skills. Desirable criteria * Experience with account procedures, aged debt ledgers, reconciliation etc. * Strong understanding of Corporate Tax framework for UK. * Experience of cash management and cashflow forecasting. * Knowledge and experience of Sage.
