Site Manager


Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Site Manager on a 6-9 Month Contract, based UK wide. This role is OUTSIDE IR35 Summary of Role Responsible for the planning, execution and delivery of the construction project. They will also manage and lead other members of the construction team. Duties and Responsibilities • Ensure all works are managed and achieved in accordance with the design specifications, CDM Regulations, Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Health and Safety Legislation, Permit to Work/ Form of Authority as well as ISO 9001 quality standards. • Responsible for the co-ordination and control of the project from the pre-construction stage, through to completion and the handover of the project to the client. • Day to day management of operations on site, ensuring that the project is brought to a successful completion and meets the required time, budget and quality constraints. • The safe delivery of the project. • Ensure all staff adhere to site rules and challenge non-conformance. • Ensure that the risk assessments and method statements are reviewed for adequacy, and accurately reflect onsite activities to ensure all significant risks are identified and effectively controlled to minimise those risks. • Implement the safety arrangements and maintain the CPP keeping it under review to ensure it remains adequate throughout the duration of the construction phase. * Ensure all accident and incidents, hazards and near misses are investigated, recorded and reported to the project manager and shared with client. • Ensure all fire, first aid and emergency arrangements are in place are effective and suitably located. • Ensure all safety information and signage is in place, is effective and suitably located. • Ensure traffic management plans are in place, briefed, and periodically reviewed and monitored. • Ensure all sub-contractors are checked, suitably trained and competent for their task and tools and equipment are inspected, tested and fit for purpose as required. • Ensuring timely management of any unforeseen delays. • Regular monitoring and liaison with the Clients Project Manager/ Project Manager on the Programme of Works and development of stage/section programmes as required. • Liaise with the Project Manager to ensure adequate on-site labour and sub-contract resource is available on site utilising the agreed agency list. • Carry out toolbox briefings to the site teams and sub-contractors focusing on safety topics related to the specific tasks and reinforcing workplace hazards and safe work practices. • Carry out and record daily briefings including hazard identification and potential conflicts to the site teams and sub-contractors. • Plan and efficiently organise the site facilities and logistics, ensuring all equipment on site is routinely inspected, fit for purpose, managed and only operated by appropriately trained staff. Fulfil the role of Temporary Works Co-Ordinator on the project. • Requisition all materials and oversee the deliveries and ensure they are done so, in adequate time in line with the construction programme and procurement schedule. • Effectively communicate with the Design Team to ensure the timely release of design information. • Supervise, manage and motivate all site teams including effective management of sub-contractor activities on site ensuring they are engaged, on target in line with the Programme of Works. • Ensure site teams and sub-contractors are following common operational standards. • Maintain close relations with the Clients Project Manager/ Project Manager regarding cost control, waste management, variations, and Confirmation of Instructions. • Attend monthly progress meetings and provide progress detail as per the agenda and requested detail by the client. • Create and maintain good relations with the other site users as well as any other stakeholders. Co-ordinate activities to avoid potential conflict. • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of activity related to the project and complete daily, weekly and monthly operational reports to enable traceability. • Manage and control access and egress to site with continued assessment of the existing physical site security measures. Ensure only authorised persons are allowed access onto site. • Conduct site inductions to all those entering the CDM area and record their access and egress from site. • Carry out daily safety inspections and fulfil the health, safety and welfare responsibilities as identified by the client (H&S checks, housekeeping) and as detailed in the Company’s Health & Safe Essentials - Extensive experience of the construction industry. - Proven people management skills, including the management of subcontractors. - Practical hands-on approach – Without conducting any physical work, supervisory only. - CSCS Site Manager card. - SMSTS qualification. - CPCS lift supervisor. - First aid qualification. - Fire Marshall. - NRSWA supervisor. - Environmental awareness. - Temporary Works Coordinator. - SCO 1&2 - SCO Core, PtW and FoA - SHEA Gas - HSG47 - Excellent people skills with proven leadership qualities and ability to motivate others. - Excellent communication, organisational, planning and time management skills
