Finance Assistant - GBP17ph - GBP20ph (Umbrella) - Reading, Berkshire (Hybrid 3 days in the office)

FryerMiles is partnering with a leading Technology business based in Reading, Berkshire, to recruit a Finance Assistant as the organisation continues to experience strong growth. Reporting to the Financial Controller and working in a small team, you will be responsible for all day to day processing of finance transactions as well as supporting with month end.

The duties of the Finance Assistant include:

  • Carry out operational processes necessary to support the successful operation of the business, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense claims and banking
  • Drive and influence changes to the finance operational process to improve efficiencies and mitigate risk.
  • Responsible for the employee expense claim process. You will become a champion of their new Expense Claim system (Navan) and the go-to person within the finance team for support.
  • Manage the accounts payable process from initial receipt of invoices through to initiating payment, maintaining a good relationship with suppliers.
  • Build strong relationship with customers, taking responsibility for credit control and responding to ad-hoc requests
  • Assist with month-end through preparation of bank reconciliations and lead schedules, and booking journals for depreciation, payroll, pre-payments, and accruals

The successful Finance Assistant will:

  • Part-qualified AAT (level 2 or above)
  • Solid understanding of book-keeping and financial controls
  • Proactive, detailed-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident in using financial software, ERP systems and strong excel skills (V-look-up, Pivots)
  • Excellent communicator, willing to build strong working relationships within the business
