Commercial Property - Legal Assistant / Paralegal Shrewsbury Permanent Circa £25,000 - £29,000 per annum doe + 24 days holiday. Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.30pm – 1 hour for lunch We are currently recruiting for a Legal Assistant / Paralegal for our Shrewsbury based client. This is a great opportunity to join a large well-established business that have an excellent reputation in their field. They are looking to bring in an experience Legal Assistant / Paralegal to support within their Commercial Property Legal department. Responsibilities and duties will include, but not limited to: * Support in managing the property portfolio contractual documentation, regarding maintenance, leasing and licencing to let or alterations of use. * Getting licences for the properties completed * Proof reading policies and documentation * Assisting with compilation of standard documentation and information packs * Obtaining title documents and submitting searches * Preparing engrossment documents for signature and overseeing the internal signing procedure * Preparing Land Registry applications, Stamp Duty and Companies House submissions * Acknowledging and responding to notices in respect of both residential and commercial developments * Sending out late payment / debtor letters * Management of the key-dates reminder system and deeds storage * Maintenance of accurate electronic records and ensuring all records are up to date and filed appropriately. * Conducting legal research * General administrative support to the team such as photocopying, scanning, dealing with basic telephone enquiries etc. * File creation. * Closing and archiving files together with management of the archiving database * Undertaking such other duties as may from time to time be required to support the in-house legal team to support corporate objectives. Skills and Experience * We are looking for an individual who has experience in working within a legal department that specialises in commercial property. * Be able to maintain discretion while dealing with confidential information. * Ability to deal with large amounts of information and work on several tasks at the same time. * Good organisational and time management skills with ability to work to deadlines. * Ability to communicate and present information clearly and concisely both verbally and written. * High level of accuracy with good attention to detail * Ability to plan and manage own workload effectively. * Adaptable and able to remain calm under pressure. * Confident IT skills, particularly in MS Office * Experience of using a legal case management system will be an advantage. * Flexible towards on-going development of the role.
